Moving Forward

Future Plans

I have recently been admitted into the Construction Project Management (CPM) Minor in the School of Architecture. For this summer (2021), I plan on taking a Construction Project Management Seminar to fulfill my CPM Minor requirements. For my Final year at the University of Maryland, I will continue taking classes necessary to complete the Bachelor of Science in Architecture and CPM Minor curriculums. Both of these curriculums will open many doors of opportunity within the Architecture/Engineering/Construction (AEC) industry. I will be taking my fourth architecture studio in the fall and final, required classes in the spring, completing my undergraduate studies at Maryland in Spring 2022.

After graduation, I plan applying and going to graduate school, where I will pursue a Masters in Architecture, UMD's professional architecture degree. This degree and educational experience is a key component in obtaining an Architectural License in the future. After my graduate studies, I will enter the Construction Industry, applying my Architectural and Project Management skills in the field. While I primarily plan on becoming a registered architect, I have given thought toward the Project Manager/Superintendent route in the AEC Industry. In either path, I will be applying my architectural education and leadership skills, leading design or construction teams toward project completion!

Leadership In Use

The Public Leadership program at the University of Maryland has helped me better understand the characteristics of effective leadership in various scenarios, including small-scale teamwork and large-scale projects. By understanding my personal leadership traits, I can better perform on jobsites as a Superintendent/Project Manager or as a collaborative team member in the design stage of an architectural project. Along with my previous leadership experience, the Public Leadership Program will help elevate my skills as a potential candidate for various leadership positions in the AEC Industry. I have included my participation in the Public Leadership Program on my resume alongside other strengths, skills, and honors that will help me in my job search after graduation!
